Self Reflection Post:
What went well this week? Are there any things that didn't go well? If yes, what can you do to prevent that from happening next time or what can you do to better the result?
The second week was a very progressive week for us. Our one on one meeting with Randy was quite the needed one. We found out that we were not going to be working with the desired amount of kids (We wanted roughly 18-20 children) We would be getting from 8-10 children max. That also comes to the next piece of information that Randy gave us; we'll be working with the older children. That was crucial information that prompt us to change more things into our 1st program plan. Like our amount of kids and the age groups, we now had to set up a meeting with our volunteers to inform them about the new changes. Our second meeting with our volunteers was very quick and brief. We all liked the idea of having a smaller group so the management would be less hectic for us, but we had to change the concepts of what we wanted the children to act out. Other things that we also discussed was how we would all get to Charles Dickens and how we would present the idea of the scripts to the children as an 8 year old might not understand our instructions if we use words that are too "big," for their own vocabulary. Overall this week was a very important but relaxed week. Knowing all of this information a week ahead before our actual sessions start gives us that week to fully polish everything and making sure everything is absolutely set before our project kicks off! Bye!

Moment of the Week:
Tell the internet audience the reasoning behind such a statement on your advertisement poster to the participant's parents. The main reason why we chose such a statement for our "Why," was to really emphasize the importance of having these arts programs accessible for children and youth. As we know already, the government is constantly making cuts to these wonderful programs that give the children and youth a wide, and diverse range of activities to participate in. We want to be able to provide a program for the children to participate in and hope to inspire the children to take up other arts programs that branch out of drama. When you re-read this phrase indicated in your "moment" on the left, how do you feel about your project? We feel very excited to host a project that not only brings the awareness of the arts programs, but is also one of our passions as well. It's definitely going to be quite an experience not being the student in a drama class, but being the teacher of a class of young, enthusiastic children. |
